Security
Generally, the quality and security that a lock offers is indicated by its price. As an approximate guide we believe you should be spending between 10 and 20% of the value of your cycle. So if you buy a £400 bike then you should be thinking in excess of £50 for a lock. The top quality locks are all key operated, although some younger users find a combination lock a practical alternative.
D Locks
The rigid D locks provide (usually) the most security, but the cheap ones are little better than a cable lock. Kryptonite provide a good range of D locks priced from £30 to £70.
