General Advice

1. A mixture of adult cycles
   What Bike: there are many different types of bike on the market such as mountain bikes (ATBs), Hybrids, Sports, Folders, Juniors, Town Bikes and others. Which to choose depends on what use you will put the bike to.
2. How Much: Prices vary enormously, in the case of adult bikes from under £200 to well over £1000. If you really don’t know exactly what you want then it is likely that the £250 to £500 range would suit you. Our Junior bikes start from about £80. When you buy a bike from Ealing Cycles advice on price is considered as important as type and model of bike.
3. A mixture of hybrid cycles
   Where do I buy: Obviously we want you to buy from us, but wherever you buy from make sure there is a good selection of models in your price range, that the staff know what they are talking about, that there is a good servicing and warranty back-up, and most importantly Don’t Buy A Bike in a box!
4. The Internet: Use the internet as a source of information, but buy your bike from a cycle shop, preferably one who is a member of the Association of Cycle Traders. Only then will you get proper advice, be able to see the product before you buy, and of course you will receive the bike "Ready To Ride".
5. Insurance: In many cases, your cycle may be covered by your general household insurance,which can sometimes be cheaply extended to cover your bicycle when not at home. Otherwise you can get comprehensive insurance if you are a member of the CTC or LCC who offer insurance to their members. Otherwise one of the specialist cycle insurance companies such as CycleGuard will be able to help.
